Your flight will take you past the 726-ft.-high and 1,244-ft.-long Hoover Dam, a modern marvel of engineering. The dam took 3,250,000 cubic yards of concrete to construct – enough to pave a two-lane highway from San Francisco to New York.
Traverse the beautiful mountain and sandscapes of the Mojave Desert. The Mojave appears harsh and barren from a distance, but a closer look reveals a wide array of habitats–mountains, valleys, springs, forests and wetlands–that shelter an abundance of plant, fish and animal species.
Cross the shimmering teal blue waters and stunning sandstone shorelines of Lake Mead. Formed by the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead is the largest reservoir in the U.S. in terms of capacity, and the largest man-made lake in the U.S. The lake is 112 miles long when full, has 759 miles of shoreline, and is 532 feet at its greatest depth. It is also home to thousands of desert plants and animals, adapted to survive where rain is scarce and temperatures can soar.
Follow the winding path of the mighty Colorado River. The river is 1,450 miles long and has a flow of 800 million gallons of water per hour.
Soar through the powerful and inspiring landscape of the Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The canyon overwhelms your senses through its immense size and unique combinations of geologic color and erosional striations. This epic canyon is 277 river miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and a mile deep.
After concluding your helicopter tour you will land at the historic Boulder City Airport. Transfer to a charter which will deliver you to the base of Hoover Dam, to board your raft.
Explore the Grand Canyon walls while floating down the Colorado River. Look for local wildlife including bighorn sheep, osprey, antelope while enjoying a break for lunch at Black Canyon beach along the banks of the river. Continue through the Grand Canyon on a smooth water ride viewing the towering canyon from a unique river perspective up to a mile below the rim. Your trip concludes at Willow Beach, Arizona.
